"GAY CAPITOL" OF CALIFORNIA

We missed our train stop down to the Castro, and ended up walking several miles (straight up, straight down) to arrive just as the district was gearing up for the famous street party thrown each Halloween. The hike was worth it, and, though we voyeurs outnumbered the stars in costume, it was a night to remember. We sneaked away early evening to get a less crowded train back to Union Square for a quiet dinner.
