POINT ARENA, CA

Point Arena caps a lovely drive up highway 1 along the high cliffs overlooking the ocean from San Francisco. The point provided F's first ever sunset over the Pacific. We stayed in the Harbormaster's Inn in a cove south of town, ate in the adjoining restaurant, and talked a bit with the urchin fishermen on the pier. The cliffs above the cove provide a marvelous seascape, and the whole area is more peaceful and less congested than anywhere south down the coast.
