CHATEAUROUX

Our first night in France was spent in the only really ugly hotel room of the entire trip. We'd driven our rental car from the DeGaulle airport, to get on the unfinished autoroute south to the Dordogne region, towards Toulouse. Fatigued from over twenty hours in transit, we were happy to find Chateauroux just off our road. Conventions were in town, and almost ALL of the hotels were "Complet". This was the only time in our trip that we found it difficult to get a hotel. We took the last available room in the city--across from the railway station. It was a "suite"--two very large, VERY ugly rooms with no view. We took it and collapsed after a quick dinner. THIS PAGE IS NOT REPRESENTATIVE OF THE REMAINDER OF THE TRAVELOGUE, SO CLICK ON BY!
