A
couple weeks into our visit, I was missing hilly countryside and vineyards
such as we had known in the Dordogne. Beaches are bright and flat.
We needed a change. So we pointed our car northwest to the regional
park in the mountains alongside the valley of the Orb River. It turned
out to be one of the prettiest drives of our vacation, and gave us
all the hills either of us wanted, as well as a good lunch and a climbing
visit to the micro-climated Jardin Méditerranéan to
see hundreds of species of cacti and succulents. Great day!
