We
stayed in a good hotel in the Eixample area of Barcelona, uphill from
the Ramblas and Old City, but only a three-block walk from the Casa
Mila and Casa Battlo buildings by Gaudi. We visited restaurants, strolled
the Ramblas, watched the sardana dancers at the cathedral, and, next
day, took the Metro to the massive Sagrada Familia cathedral, which
will be under construction for decades to come. I had a bad cold throughout
our time there, so our schedule got attenuated, and we shall hope
to give the city another try on another future trip.
