The village of Marseillan has a port off the 25-mile-long Etang du Thau, a saltwater sea behind a barrier island beach on the Mediterranean. The beaches in Marseillan ville are complemented by the much larger beaches of Marseillan Plage, directly on the Med. Marseillan Plage is a major vacation destination for campers and caravaners, while Marseillan village is a very ancient walled town with ports for fishing, sailing, and recreational boating. The area was a vacation destination for Roman troops over 2000 years ago! I've included, as usual, pictures of food found in waterfront restaurants.
